Anavila is a way of re-defining comfort, luxury and elegance for todays woman. Rooted in our Indian ethos and looking at the world with curious eyes we constantly strive for innovation, originality and beauty in everything we create.
We firmly believe that thoughtful creation can lead to meaningful and sustainable fashion, hence we choose our materials responsibly and create happy work communities that strongly focus on design and detail.
Our journey began in 2011 when Anavila after her short stint abroad came back to India. After considerable thought and perseverance with various clusters and artisans the first linen sari was created, hence disrupting the sari design and creating a completely modern, comfortable and desirable to wear sari. We have been constantly evolving in the last few years, while firmly holding on to our core values of creating comfort through innovation and design working closely with artisanal clusters.
Women across regional, cultural and economic diversities are the ones who make us who we are. Be it the tribal artisan from a lesser know village in Jharkand who works in her free time to create soulful textiles, or the one sitting in West Bengal and painting the waxed linen to create water like motifs on our batik sari. The wife of the weaver who nourishes, supports and encourages the creator. The muse who never ceases to inspire and the customer who keeps coming back for more and pushes us to innovate and create.
