Prints add beauty to textiles. A simple motif can speak to the heart and take you to a beautiful dream. Our print journey begins every season with rough sketches which are then carved into wooden blocks by hand. A simple one color motif can use up to two blocks and multicolour multi motif print can go up to 12-16 different blocks. After the outline is planned and set on the textile the printers use precise calculation to fill the colors through blocks. There is a lot of trial and error as sometimes what you imagined in your mind and what comes on paper can be very different on a textile. The whole process of bringing a print into reality is nothing short of a tiny miracle. Here is taking you behind the scenes of our summer 2020 print workshop.
